The Australian Jockey Club is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Racecourse Manager at Royal Randwick.

The Club conducts approximately 40 race meetings and 20 barrier trials per year at Royal Randwick and provides training facilities for 600 hundred horses year round.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a proven record of success in sports turf and garden management with an emphasis on horticultural aspects including irrigation, fertilisation and pest control. Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications are essential.

You need to have experience managing people, Occupational Health and Safety, environment, risk and contract management and have proven ability managing a substantial budget. You will also need to be a strong communicator and have good negotiation skills.

The successful candidate will liaise with Turnpoint Pty Ltd, our contract labour and equipment service provider, regarding programs for the management of sand based kikuyu tracks and other training surfaces located on the racecourse.

This key role will see the successful candidate managing Randwick racetrack operations to ensure the AJC presents Australia’s finest racing and training surfaces and beautiful lawns and gardens.

This is a salaried position and an attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
