Business Development Manager

The Australian Jockey Club invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Business Development Manager specialising in the MICE Market.

As the Business Development Manager, you will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing, and will be largely responsible for developing new business opportunities for Royal Randwick, Conventions and Events for both race days and non race days. The successful candidate will be part of an enthusiastic and energetic sales team to cater for all business event needs.

A key aspect of the role is to source and manage new event business, from the sales pitch through to invoicing as well as liaising with our Event Managers and Operations Team to ensure a smooth handover of the event.  This role also involves conducting sales calls, participation at trade shows and other external networking activities.

To be considered for this exciting and challenging opportunity, candidates will need to have at least 2-3 years proven track record in a similar sales driven role preferably in a large event, theme park, entertainment, hospitality or catering capacity.  A strong and motivated personality with a reputation for closing deals is essential for the role along with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.

Customer and Venue Services Manager

The Australian Jockey Club, located at Randwick Racecourse, is looking for a professional individual to fill the role of Customer and Venue Services Manager.

As a key participant of the H&E management team you will be committed to progressive and flexible customer service. This role has the primary responsibility for the day to day management, administration and co-ordination of the racecourse’s race day

venue services logistics, including car parks, gate and ticket entry points as well as customer service & information staff. 

A key outcome is to increase the quality of service provided to race day attendee’s by being proactive in initiating ideas for improved efficiencies and services.

The ideal candidate will have had experience at a similar venue, in which they have had a proven track record in managing a team of diligent customer service professionals.

The successful applicant will be highly skilled with strong social, commercial and practical skills. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
